Dear SWC Members,

Are you ready to party?!?! Everything is set for our season-opener/member recruitment party this Saturday.  Here are the details…

  • The jumpy slide is to be set-up before noon tomorrow (Friday), and will remain at the pool until late-day Sunday. You are welcome to come use it any time starting tomorrow.

  • We have Moe’s setting up a “taco bar” around 1:30 Saturday afternoon

  • The margarita machine from Margarita Momma will be delivered shortly before noon. The weather forecast is looking a bit iffy (40% chance of rain)…the machine should help the adults get through whatever Mother Nature throws at us.

  • I’ll be heading out Saturday morning with fellow member Jeff Bohm to pick-up beverages (water, soda, juice, beer) and ice at Cosco. And speaking of Jeff, he has been serving as our resident wi-fi support dude and as such fixed our wi-fi set-up at the pool. Thank you Jeff!

  • Thank you to Julie Franklin who is taking care of party decorations and favors!

  • In an effort to ensure only our paying members and their guests enjoy our pool, we will be distributing SWC bag tags at Saturday’s party. Please make sure you grab one…this will help us to more easily identify those not likely tied to membership at SWC. Special thanks to Liz Winkler for making the tags!

  • Please keep in mind that this party is in part about recruiting members. We will have membership applications available at the gate Saturday. I've also attached to this email an application.  SWC is currently accepting new associate members, with a first-year membership special of $550 (subsequent years are $650). Please bring along anyone you know who might be interested in joining the best kept swim/tennis secret in Sandy Springs/Dunwoody.

  • Our pool mgmt company, Sears, has assured me they will have the pool “sparkling” come Saturday…including the wading pool. And, our board recently approved a couple small upgrades around the pool...painting the diving board base and fixing/painting the wooden fence that surrounds the baby pool pump.

I want to call-out Jim Winkler, one of our board members, who is constantly going out of his way to pick-up trash, and tending to all manner of little details surrounding our pool. It is those little details that collectively make the difference between an awesome or disappointing swimming experience at SWC.  I encourage all of our members to please, if you see something not right, fix it.  If someone has left garbage in the parking lot, pick it up.  If a kid drops a roll of toilet paper in the commode, fish it out (believe me, I’ve had to do that more times than I care to count!).

Thank you all…and hope everyone enjoys a great pool party Saturday!!

Swim on!

Michael
